Swarovski Autumn/Winter 2009/10 collection
Swarovski’s Autumn/Winter 2009/10 collection is dedicated to Nature, weaving inspiration taken from this breathtaking source to dazzling effect. The pieces offer a continuation of the inspiring, poetic themes of Spring/Summer 2009. While the previous collection focused on surrealism, merriment and colour, “Nature Reloaded” is characterised by an enchanting and mystical interpretation of nature.
Twinning a spiritual quest with discoveries of wonder, this season’s muse presents a symbiotic relationship with Nature. Magnetic and instinctive, this fairy likes elegant deep tones and warm ethnic tints. For her, Creative Director Nathalie Colin shaped a collection that celebrates the saturation with a re-enchanted world.
This vibrant interpretation is expressed through three themes: Reptile Tectonic, with a sensual geometry, Purple Blossom, and its hypnotic flowers, and Enchanted Microcosm, with its dream-like world. For the “Nature Reloaded” collection, the vivid flash of cut crystal is combined with a captivating reptile effect. Perfection, precision and refinement are – as always – at the core of all Swarovski creations.
Reptile Tectonic
Mysteriously captivating, the snake is the inspiration behind “Reptile Tectonic”. Cut crystal complements the brilliance of the jewels and transforms the facets into iridescent scales of sparkling light.
“Hypnosis” embraces the reptilian form with a seductive range of necklaces, bangle and earrings. The sophisticated pavé finish offers a new camouflage effect and adds a unique texture and touch. This styling is further enhanced by gold, brown and honey-coloured crystals. “Highlight” merges cut crystal set in graphical motifs with Art Deco influences. In terms of colouring, an original mix of subtle metal tones such as pale gold and ruthenium plating, create a vintage effect. The reptilian theme is also on show with the “Hella” minaudière, a particularly desirable bronze snake creation framed in a brilliant Smoky Quartz Crystal Mesh band. Thanks to its removable, serpentine chain, the minaudière can also be worn over the shoulder. Finally, the same combination of materials is used to eye-catching effect for the “Hestia” clutch bag, which features a snake-trimmed pocket mirror.
Purple Blossom
The floral inspiration behind “Purple Blossom” provides a burst of violet, mauve and black, delivering captivating tones rife with spiritual symbolism. The interpretation is voluptuous and ultra-feminine, and features origami-style, oversized petals, hinting at eccentricity.
Focusing on exuberance and black monochrome, the “Harvest” line presents two unique necklaces. Both are characterised by their acrylic glass and Jet Crystal Mesh beads, seemingly competing to out-sparkle one another. A further interpretation of “Purple Blossom” can be found in the “Helium” line, which features a more sculpted, layered design, offering fantasy flowers on a captivating necklace. These flowers boast an abstract beauty that is magnified by a Pointiage™ finish combining violet, mauve and fuchsia crystals. This exclusive handcrafted Swarovski technique presents unsurpassed precision and delicacy. It is also employed in the “Hyacinth” line, where a powerful, baroque-style necklace majestically illuminates the décolleté.
Enchanted Microcosm
“Enchanted Microcosm” captures the spirit of an enchanted forest filled with dream-like creatures, fairies and elves. Pieces here are expressed through playful forms and joyful colours. Continuing their success, “Elvis” and “Erika” take centre stage, with “Elvis” humorously taking on the shape of an insect and “Erika” that of a butterfly Their delicate Pointiage™ finish adds an eye-catching highlight turning them into playful, sparkling must-haves. The range would not be complete without a few extra delights and good luck charms! Swarovski has created a range of mobile phone accessories for Autumn/Winter 2009/10 that features a host of light-hearted characters and brilliant animals. These similarly boast bright colours, original design and a sense of magical fun.
Combining expertise and poetry, the “Nature Reloaded” collection embodies the very best of Swarovski and brings the first chapter in the “Beyond Nature” trilogy to a beautiful conclusion.
