Spring/Summer 2008 Collection

Swarovski, the world's leading producer of cut crystal, announces the launch of S/S 08 ATELIER SWAROVSKI, an exclusive collection of design driven crystal accessories created by the world's top fashion designers in conjunction with Swarovski.
Straight from the catwalks of London and New York, ATELIER SWAROVKI launches its second collection of couture accessories designed by some of the most dynamic and talented names in fashion, especially for their catwalk shows, and created in collaboration with Swarovski, the world’s largest producer of cut crystal for the world of fashion and style. Following a successful launch last season, the ATELIER SWAROVSKI concept continues to fuse fashion and jewels, giving a select group of cutting-edge designers the opportunity to create a high-profile accessories collection, and to work with crystal to bring their own catwalk visions to life.
Each season, ATELIER SWAROVSKI works hand in hand with Swarovski-supported names like Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and Jens Laugesen, enabling them to develop their key catwalk looks into a small, exclusive range of crystal-encrusted accessories that push boundaries and give a new expression to crystal creativity. Uncompromising in their newness, these next-generation accessories form an integral part of each designer’s fashion collection, underlining style, message and meaning. The carefully chosen designers have full access to Swarovski’s newest ranges of crystal elements, with its continual innovations in cuts, colours, finishes and applications. Each designer uses crystal in inventive, unexpected ways, exploring its light and luxury, its precision, its unfolding depths and intriguing contradictions. With total design integrity and authenticity, ATELIER SWAROVSKI is able to bring these directional designer accessories, hot off the catwalk, onto the market, through luxury retailers, and into the hands of a discerning clientele of fashion intelligentsia. In this way, Swarovski taps into the company’s century-long heritage of mutually creative collaborations with the leading lights of fashion, including Chanel, Schiaparelli, Christian Dior and Balenciaga, focusing on the future while keeping traditions alive.
This season, for S/S 2008, Swarovski has once again worked with Jonathan Saunders, Jens Laugesen and Christopher Kane, while adding new names, Giles and Marios Schwab in London and Doo.Ri in New York.
