BAFTA LA Britannia Awards 2009 - London 2009
Swarovski Crystal Palace took centre stage at the BAFTA LA Britannia Awards on November 5th, 2009, held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The evening, hosted by Stephen Fry, saw Glitterbox by George Baldele and Cascade by Vincent van Duysen shine alongside a star studded array of honorees and nominees.
Emily Blunt, who recently appeared crowned by Swarovski in The Young Victoria, was honored with the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year, whilst Hollywood veteran Kirk Douglas took home the Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Filmed Entertainment, presented to him by his colleague, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Other honorees included Danny Boyle, presented the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in Directing by Dev Patel and Ewan McGregor, Colin Firth who was honored with the BAFTA LA Humanitarian Award and legendary Robert de Niro who received the prestigious Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in film, presented by Claire Danes and Ben Stiller.
